Rory Ronde is a musician, composer, and sound artist based near Amsterdam

For over a decade Rory has been a member of New Cool Collective, contributing to every album the band has released since Chin Chin. He also spent twenty years as part of Wouter Hamel's band. Earlier in his career he was a member of Benny Sings, and he's collaborated with artists including Giovanca, Roos Jonker, Urita Mual, and Ntjamrosie - several of them, like Benny Sings and Giovanca, part of the Dox Records roster. He was also bassist/guitarist for the now defunct Dutch art-funk band LaGarcon*.

Alongside his band work, Rory has an ongoing musical partnership with Eva van Manen, with whom he performs, produces music, and provided the score for the podcast Mina & Mevrouw (by Maartje Duin). Together they also co-produced Eva's record Tussenruimte.

As a composer, Rory has scored the documentary Nieuwe Generaties van Suriname, and works as an instant composer with Company Marte Boneschansker, on the performance work OPSTAND and the UNCUT series. He has also composed for dance theatre with the band The InkCall, including the productions Tavel van Vijf and danstheater Aya.

He also composed the music and did live performance for the piece called "Meer Dan Bauxiet" by Emma Lesuis. This project has had several iterations that took this performance across many theatres in the Netherlands. 

Rory created soundtracks for award winning dutch podcasts "De Plantage Van Onze Voorouders" &  by Maartje Duin & Nicole Terborg's "Kweekje, mi kwekipikin" .  The latter was awarded the "Prix d'Europe" .

Bands and long-term memberships

- New Cool Collective, founded in 1993 by Benjamin Herman as bandleader and lead saxophonist. Rory has been a member for 14+ years, contributing to every album since Chin Chin.

- Wouter Hamel. The band's debut album, Hamel, was released in 2007 on Dox Records, with Rory (credited as Kofi Anonymous) on guitar. Rory has been part of the band for 20 years, officially still active, recently quiet.

Kofi Anonymous

Rory also produces and releases music under the moniker "Kofi Anonymous" . He has produced tracks and albums for his hiphop outfit "Les Cooles De Ville" and a solo artist. He released an EP during the corona crisis called "Quarantino Beats" and later a new ep named "The Pocket Dimension" . This features his eclectic mic of jazz, hiphop, funk , synthpop and Caribbean influences.
